REPORT TO: Head of Quality
KEY PURPOSE OF JOB
The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all products and processes adhere to the highest quality standards, guaranteeing that final deliverables are compliant, reliable, and meet both technical specifications and customer expectations. This role plays a vital part in upholding and continuously improving quality assurance practices across all space-related operations within the facility.
KEY TASKS
Quality Control:
· Understanding the technical and client’s needs and requirements and ensuring effective communication thereof to the engineering and production teams
· Provide guidance, if required to Incoming Inspectors with regards to incoming components, parts, and assemblies
· Assist with the identification of Key Inspection Points (KIP) and Mandatory Inspection Points (MIP) of sub-assemblies and integrated assemblies
· Provide guidance to Quality Controllers during in-process and final inspection of sub-assemblies
· Verify inspections on outgoing deliveries
· Responsible for the management and control of the non-conforming product
Quality Assurance:
· Assist the Supply Chain team in the selection and qualification of suppliers and sub-
contractors
· Responsible for the investigation, communication, and monitoring of quality deviations to suppliers
· Provide guidance on the monitoring of shelf-life control
· Ensure adherence to cleanroom standards, as per the BMS requirements
· Responsible for the investigation, resolution, and effective feedback on quality deviations
· Responsible for the calibration, verification, maintenance and commissioning of equipment
· Review, verify and validate design output against customer requirements
· Assist the Engineering and Production teams with investigations of failures, where required
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Administration:
· Responsible for keeping accurate documentation
· Responsible for the review and approval of technical documentation (including test reports and calibration reports)
· Responsible for all outgoing quality paperwork including Certificate of Conformance
· Responsible for the management reporting of quality issues and trends
PREREQUISITES
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Qualification:
· Degree in Quality from a recognized institute
· Advanced Diploma/B-Tech Degree in Electronic/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering
Experience & Knowledge:
· >5 years working experience in the maintaining QMS in compliance with ISO 9001/AS9100
· >5 years working experience in the electronic manufacturing industry
· >5 years working experience in a Quality Engineering role
· >5 years working experience with conducting root cause analysis
· >2 years Supplier Quality management
· Proficient with Quality tools (SPC, 8D, FMEA, etc)
· Proficient with MS Office
