REPORT TO: Chief Information and Security Officer

KEY PURPOSE OF JOB

NewSpace Systems is looking for an Internal Application Designer/Product Owner to design, develop, and maintain tailored software solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our internal operations. This role plays a critical part in translating business needs into functional tools, ensuring our systems are scalable, reliable, and aligned with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful applications that support the day-to-day success of our business.

KEY TASKS

Design, Develop, and Maintain Internal Applications

· Build custom software tools and applications to meet internal business requirements, ensuring usability, performance, and scalability

Collaborate with Stakeholders

· Work closely with internal teams (e.g., operations, HR, finance, IT) to gather requirements, understand workflows, and propose technical solutions that streamline processes

Integrate Systems and Data Sources

· Develop and maintain integrations between internal applications and third-party systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, cloud platforms, databases)

Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues

· Provide support for internal applications by identifying and resolving bugs, performance issues, and user-reported problems in a timely manner

Maintain Code Quality and Documentation

· Write clean, well-documented, and testable code. Maintain documentation for system architecture, development practices, and application usage

Contribute to Application Lifecycle Management

· Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including planning, development, testing, deployment, and post-release support

Ensure Security and Compliance

· Implement best practices for application security and data protection, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations

Optimize User Experience

· Focus on improving user interfaces and application workflows to enhance the efficiency and satisfaction of internal users

Automate Routine Tasks

· Identify opportunities to automate repetitive or manual tasks to improve productivity and reduce errors

PREREQUISITES
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree (preferred)/ National Certificate in Web Application Design UI/UX

Experience:

· 4 + years of work experience as a product owner, business analyst, Web application designer
· Experience with backend data processing and architecture: API’s, Java, Python etc
· Experience with requirements gathering and implementation/adoption campaigns
· Budibase/CRUD applications front-end experience will be an advantage

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS

· Strong understanding of Application UI/UX principals
· Not afraid of technical tools and low-code development
· Self-starter who is confident, independent and can work without close supervision
· Analytical and problem-solving skills · Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues to varying audiences and levels
· Ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure a successful user experience
