NewSpace (a product engineering company in Somerset West) is recruiting for a Special Projects Manager to oversee and facilitate aerospace projects in a spacecraft engineering and product manufacturing environment from initiation to closure.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:
• B.Eng Electronic degree from a recognized institution (or similar)
• Formal project management training (PMP certification preferably)
Experience & Knowledge:
• Successful track record of managing projects (>5 years) in engineering and manufacturing, preferably in the aerospace/spacecraft environment
• Experience in systems engineering would be advantageous
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and ISO requirements
• Knowledge of project management methodologies
• Proficient using MS Office and project management tools

Job Specification

Responsibilities:

Introduction

NewSpace Systems (a product development and manufacturing aerospace engineering company in Somerset West) has a permanent position for a product engineer to take responsibility for the industrialization, support, customization and improvement of standard products and processes.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:
• B.Sc in Mechatronics Engineering (or similar) from a recognized institution

Experience (ideally within aerospace or defence industry):
• At least 5 years’ relevant work experience.
• High-reliability electronic product support, realisation and environmental testing (>3 years)
• Embedded hardware design, development & implementation. (>3 years) ( Altium Designer)
• Working knowledge of analogue electronics.
• Embedded software development, integration and testing. (>3 years) (C, C++)
• Working knowledge of python.
• Mechanical design (Solid Works)
Additional knowledge areas that would strengthen the application
• Optical/Optomechanical system design
• Labview-based test facility design, programming and realization (>3years)
• FPGA development (VHDL based) (>3 years)
• Thermal and structural analysis
• Experience with the ECSS product development and environmental testing standard

Job Specification

Engineering Support of Standard Products
• Responsible for engineering support to the Production team (including logistics and testing) on Standard Products.
• Responsible for completion and updating of Technical documentation on Standard Products.
• Responsible for investigation and resolution of product deviations during the production process and client feedback.
• Responsible for the review and approval of test results on standard products.
• Responsible for timeous and effective response to client technical queries under the guidance of the Product Manager.
• Responsible for organising and executing testing at offsite test facilities, where required.
• Support to the Business Development/Sales team with regards to technical queries on standard products.
• Perform continuous improvement in terms of standardisation, technologies, architecture, best practices etc. under the guidance of the Product Manager.

Evolution and Customization of Standard Products
• Responsible for all phases of evolution and customization of a standard product (including design, qualification, industrialization and engineering support during production).
• Responsible for the development and/or updating of verification plans, test procedures and test environments related to the evolution and customization of a standard product.
• Responsible for identification and resolution of issues, management and mitigation of risks.
• Responsible for project deliverables in line with time, cost and quality targets.
• Monitoring and reporting to Product Manager on the status of deliverables on projects.
• Responsible for the execution of technical reviews according to the project review process and client requirement.

Configuration
• Responsible for the configuration control of relevant technical documentation and software programmes on standard products.
• Support implementation of and compliance to engineering technical standards, policies and procedures.

Product engineering company in Somerset West is recruiting for a Supply Chain Lead to oversee and facilitate the supply chain operations (including procurement and logistics needs) of the company.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

• B degree in supply chain management or relevant field
OR
• B degree in an engineering field from recognized institution
Experience:
• Successful track record of managing supply chain processes, in an electronic manufacturing environment (engineering)
• Experience in SAGE Evolution and/or Granite Warehouse Management would be beneficial.
• Must have experience with ERP systems
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and ISO requirements

• Coordinating and monitoring all supply chain operations
• Utilizing and maintenance of ERP and other related software to optimize procurement, warehousing and shipping procedures
• Accountable for effective operations of the procurement and logistic processes, in the production value chain
• Establish good relationships with suppliers and contractors to achieve mutually beneficial partnerships.
• Accountable for export licence management and compliance
• Ensure that the delivery process of products is compliant to the customer specification.
